Once a vicious vampire who tortured his victims for pleasure, Angelus was cursed with a soul for killing the beloved daughter of a Gypsy tribe. Overwhelming remorse for his soulless deeds sent Angel into years of despair, until his relationship with Buffy Summers, the vampire slayer, gave him a new perspective.
